Lighting posts

This is where I put posts about lighting stuff, this is instead of lighting-gallery.

SOX in water

This is the smashed SOX lamp in water. This lamp was smashed, so i thought the best thing to do with it was to smash it and put it in water. This lamp didn’t actually spark very much or go on fire, it just smoked a bit.

Smashed SOX

This poor Philips SOX lamp got smashed sadly. It was in my thorn gamma 6, but my mum accidentally knocked the thorn gamma 6, and it fell off the table. Luckily, the thorn gamma 6 survived, but the lamp sadly didn’t. As you can see, the top of the lamp is smashed and the barium getter has gone white. This lamp will probably have to be disposed of in water. I have ordered a osram supersox 35w lamp to replace it.

Cooked 400w halogen lamp

This is the 400w halogen lamp that came in the 400w halogen floodlight that I found in a skip in Bracknell. As you can see, the lamp is completely cooked and burnt out.

Phosco P222

This Phosco P222 is in Bracknell. There used to be 4, but 2 of them have been replaced with a double-bracket, and 2 Philips iridiums. The 2 P222s now run on 3 SON lamps, but they used to run on 3 MBF lamps.

lighting-gallery 2

Wed 25 Sep 2024

Sadly, lighting-gallery found that I was only 11, and they decided to ban me from it.😢

they didn’t even let me use it as a guest after that, but I asked them if I can just use it as a guest, and then they let me.😀

i will hopefully be going back onto lighting-gallery when I am 16, as 16 is the age limit of lighting-gallery.

Smashed CDO-TT 250w

Sun 11 Aug 2024

sadly, I broke one of my Philips 250w cod-tt lamps. I didn’t actually drop or step on this lamp, instead, it fell out of its packaging. They are also expensive lamps and if I tried to turn this lamp on, because it has lost vacuum, the arc tube seals could get damaged after a couple of hours, or it could overheat. Also, because the lamp getter is exposed to air, it might not get to full brightness. At least I have another one of these lamps. I also have some good news, I a trying to join lighting-gallery.net!

Destroyed column

Fri 26 July 2024

I might not update my website as much as I normally would for about a week, as I am going on holiday to the Isle of Wight, however, I will do my best 😊 . However, I have found a destroyed lamppost! It has been cut off and has a cover over it! Looking on google maps, it used to have a dw windsor Kirium eco on it. It is on Chertsey lane, Staines. I have heard that if the lantern is ok, Surrey council re-uses the lantern, hopefully, they have re-used the lantern from this one.

Damaged signpost

Thu 25 July 2024

Well, I don’t know what happened here, but the door is loose and you can see the cutout fuse holder and circuit breaker inside the column. It looks like someone has crashed into it as it looks loose in the ground. It is not very safe as it is electrics and water can get in! Also, people could put their hands inside the column! This is on the B388, vicarage road in Egham.

Surrey highways depot haul

Tue 23 July 2024

This is my lighting haul from the Surrey highways depot! It is much better than what I was expecting! 😊 It did have a Philips dynavision 100w SON electronic ballast, however it was used in my Wrtl arc 90. I got lots of lamps, a cu phosco p567, a thorn beta 5 top enters on a revo bracket, a simmonsigns lua, a thorn beta 5 canopy and gear tray and a EOL Wrtl Libra led geartray. And even 3 150w osram Vialox xt’s, which are very rare. Also, A NOS 35w Sox tube. Thank you to the people at the Surrey highways depot for giving me this and the others I got before.
