Thorn rigas have a GRP canopy, and i quite like them. They were not very popular as other lanterns, such as the beta 5, arc 80, Wrtl 2600 made them not very popular.

This thorn riga is mounted on a sleeved concrete column! It is the only concrete column i know of.

Staines

This thorn riga is mounted on a very short column, probably 3 meters tall. It has a completely blown SON-T lamp in it. The lamp is completely black. It is interesting that the mains coming into the lantern (it could be power going out) is coming out of the side of the lantern in SWA (steel wire armoured) cable.
